Change of plans

Pics
Started the next section of the walkway, and still haven't sold the pullets I'm wanting to. Also moved the littles into the big coop against their will, lol. Going to get the bulb bed done this week and will post pics.

Because of all the problems with the post office and chicks arriving dead I canceled my order. I decided to get 3 started pullets, 6 weeks old from a hatchery here in Texas so I can pick them up. This is my question, I planned on brooding my chicks outside in the coop with my current ladies. Can I still do that? This is a piece of my old prefab that I kept for that specific reason.
Have you ever thought about hatching eggs and having chicks from your own flock??

Well, at 34 weeks Thea finally laid her first egg, unfortunately she didn't quite make it to the nest box and it dropped right out and broke, she'll work out the kinks, I'm just glad she's laying! These English orps take FOREVER 😂 She doesn't have very good form, but she's a sweet lady!
