I'm so sorry for the one you lossed. Thankful that your power is back on. Good luck with the hatch!Welcome to the Texas thread!
Came back on at 8pm. Hatcher was at 97 when it came back. Brooder babies in garage were good. Had to move an out side Brooder baby to the garage group and lost one from the mom's outside to drowning. The late eggs I opened this morning and they probably quit before the power outage. The others, I only candled a few are moving and talking. The one that piped is still talking but hasn't zipped yet. Hoping to see a baby when I get back from work.
Now you owe us a picture or two! Thanks Janie, yep, right now I'm playing mother hen to a bunch of pheasant chick's.
Wanted to give an update on this, I did a live chat with Ideal, gave them my order # and asked if they knew what these 2 extra feather legged chicks were and why they sent them (I'm not complaining, free is great) they said they were blue stars and that "occasionally they have feathered legs" I don't understand why because they are a mix of a blue Andalusian and a barred rock They sent the extras because they had a large number of chicks hatch.I was shocked to say the least, I've never ordered from them so idk. My invoice only has the 8 blue stars on it
That can be arranged! Now you owe us a picture or two!
I remember a thread where someone was talking about a similar mix-up. Ideal told them that same thing. As it turned out the hen was a blue cochin.Wanted to give an update on this, I did a live chat with Ideal, gave them my order # and asked if they knew what these 2 extra feather legged chicks were and why they sent them (I'm not complaining, free is great) they said they were blue stars and that "occasionally they have feathered legs" I don't understand why because they are a mix of a blue Andalusian and a barred rock They sent the extras because they had a large number of chicks hatch.
Yeah I'm really not picking up what they're puttin' down, lmao...I don't think they are cochins, the feathering is to sparse. I'm going with my original guess of blue cuckoo marans, we'll see in a couple weeks when they're a bit older.I remember a thread where someone was talking about a similar mix-up.
