in my experience, when this happens with me at birds, they die because meat birds are very inbred and don't have as high standards as other breeds. a breeder will choose, say, a Plymouth, for it's health and the quality of it's barring and comb type. However, meat birds are selected for being fat.Hello folks. Purchased 9 baby chicks from feed store. 2 different breeds. All 9 were same size when we brought home. After a few weeks we noticed one just not growing like the others. Even the ones of the same breed. Here we are 2 months later and little "tweety", we caller, is still WAY smaller. Heres a picture. Thoughts?
