Yes I want more! :p I love the colors on these, especially the green one and red one. They look really healthy! So now I wait to water until they start to wrinkle?
I believe the losses are done. My old man cactus, 2 barrels and 2 trees cactus are my main concern now. They stopped taking up water when they were under attack and have had wet feet for a couple weeks now. The soil is drying but slowly, I don't think they care for it. So hopefully in a couple...
Mealies are awful! :hugs Sorry you had to go through that. Years ago I had an outbreak of mealies, lost a plant because of it, now I know what to look for.
And yes, this is definitely one big learning experience, plants make things look so easy and of course an untrained eye lets all sorts of...
Thanks, :hugs I love these little guys and it hurts to deal with this sort of thing. I am still nervous and I am constantly checking them now. At sime point I will relax.
These little plants are SO addicting! :barnie
I think I have the plant hard scale under control now, thankfully. Of course its never as bad as one thinks, its easy to panic and blow things out of proportion.
I went over EVERY plant with a magnifying glass, rubbing alcohol and a scraper. I have quite a few cacti and succulents so its taken...
Well, its been a rough 7 days plant wise. I have kept a few house plants over the years, a few indoor cactus but never ever had bug problems.
Recently I've been on a cactus and succulent buying spree and have collected quite a few new plants. All was going well, plants were enjoying sunshine...
I had to google all those species names, I am clueless as to their proper names. :p I am super excited to watch them grow. One of the Rat Tails is already leaning a bit, I've seen huge pots of these with the tails draping long over the sides of the pot, so pretty!
Cacti were delivered today! They are a bit rough, not from shipping as they were expertly packed and nothing was damaged or fell off, but the nursery care itself isn't the best but I think they will grow well.
From the left clockwise, Lady Fingers, Opuntia, Pine Cone, Eves Pin and Rat Tail. I...
Thanks Fluffy! :hugs I worry over my babies and thats just how it is! :D I did some reading on line that sometimes it can take a couple of weeks to get newly shipped and planted Lithops to absorb the necessary water needed. I think it said to water thoroughly once a week until they are...
Maybe mine just need time to heal from shipping and planting? Being in a box for 6 days caused some dormancy? Yesterday morning they had wrinkled quite a bit over night but today not so much, they don't look worse. So maybe they are starting to take in water. I hope I can keep these babies alive!
I watered the Lithops yesterday morning, I drenched them down good, they were pretty wrinkly. I can't tell if they are absorbing the water? How long does it take for them to swell up again to full size?
Excellent video! I have heard both good and bad about misting, I do it only to a tiger fern plant and judging from this video, I am going to stop. Good grief, its a wonder anything grows around here, our humidity can be 9% for long periods of time! I desperately need this person to move in here...
I kind of like the wild look, sorta matches my personality. 🤣 Plus, in the wild, this is exactly how it would grow. I don't want to disturb it unless absolutely necessary I think.
