Light brahma, yes the incubator has its own room. I also have a few brooders (inside) for going from hatcher to brooder. I also have a few larger brooders outside, for ages 2-6weeks while they feather out.
Im not a man to argue, you made your own and it can't be the incubator has to be the eggs even though everyone else has had no issues. World just must be conspiring against you, I hope the world sorts itself out soon. Best of luck.
Yeah gut them (first always), defeather, blood isn't a big issue and you can remove the feet and head. Simply cut into quarters still. Only thing with a silkie is you might need a smaller jar. If you want, you can give the liver/heart/feet/head etc... to your other animals (dogs) if you don't...
nothing specific, my incubator just came with a piece of paper on how to diagnose problems and all the symptoms were reduced hatch rate and it could be something as minor as being just .5-1 degree off at the egg area of the incubator. Especially if your thermostat sits elsewhere (not where the...
Very handy if processing a large amount. Add more salt to get a longer self life, easily 1yr+ plus keeps you from having to do one rooster at time etc...
Just clean/feather and cut into quarters add to jar, cover in seasoning... add veggies, rice etc... seasoning etc and add water if desired (not required, weird I know). Then simply can the jar like normal (double boiler or something) it both cooks/seals etc all at once. Store in your pantry...
Putting them in jars has at least a years shelf-life with no refrigeration required... you put your love into the birds I just feel its best for you(the owner) to be the one to do it. Plus if you jar them, you can also buy store bought chicken meat to jar to and not label. Given some time you...
I would prob just eat/sell the birds with temperament issues... same thing I do with roosters. Whole chicken can fit in a quart jar. I just want the others to have enough space to be happy. I provide food and just planted a few blueberry trees (4 feet off the ground is where the foilage/fruit...
Thanks! will it become more pronounced as they gets older? They seem to be content to stretch as high as they can and try to look out the bars. (My brooder has a solid 5-6 inches on the bottom and turns into bars) but not really sure if thats because they stand up normal... atm their stance is a...
Thanks! They looked like the Chinese kind to me... I found this image online and these are the white Chinese geese chicks
(these are not mine, just what I found after googling) and yes I am sure it could easily swing to be one of those other breeds (didn't know they existed until now) Thanks!
