Review by 'Pyxis' in article 'Chick-Inn Ranch'

Looks great! I love the color scheme. If you can add more build pictures, or building plans, that would help those who might want to replicate it.

Emu Eggs not wiggling but are tilted at day 43

The tilt leveling out could be indicative of the chicks inside getting into the hatching position - how are they doing today?

Review by 'Pyxis' in article 'jespere's Coop'

Looks really nice! I love the inclusion of drawn plans. Are there roosts or nest boxes? I didn't see any in the pictures, so I wondered if you added them after.

Review by 'Anonymous' in article 'What is the Best Chicken for a Pet?'

A good premise for an article. It would be nice to see it fleshed out with more breeds, like for instance seramas, which people often keep indoors. Also, make sure you are not using pictures without permission - at least one of these images is copyrighted to another website.

    About Isabell Brahmas

Isabel in brahmas is lavender-diluted partridge, so if you wanted to breed some yourself, you'd have to cross lavender brahmas with partridge brahmas. And it would take two generations, since lavender is recessive, and black is dominant, so the first cross will produce just blacks. But if you...

    Duck breed ID help

They look like they might be silver swedish - looks like you have some black swedish and blue swedish. These would be the same breed, they just got two copies of the blue gene, so they're silver, and much lighter.

    BYC's 4th of July Star Spangled Hatch-Along

Wrong time of year :) Usually most emus are well done laying by now. HOWEVER. I have two older eggs left that I never did anything with. Hmm.

    Dead duck!

Do you know what antibiotic it was? Did the vet clean out and flush the abscess?
  19. Pyxis

    Dead duck!

If the cause of death was the abscess, no, that's not contagious. An abscess is caused by infection in a wound or follicle, so that wouldn't be something that could spread.

Just wanna make sure everything is OK for goose egg

How is the egg doing now? You'll want to get it to a rehabber, because if and when it DOES fly away, it won't know where it's going. Canada geese need to learn the migration routes from their parents, or a flock they're introduced to by a rehabber. Ever seen the movie Fly Away Home? (If not...
